What We Believe

1. We believe that the Bible (39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament) is God's written Word to all people. That it is without error. The Bible is the source of all truth for followers of Jesus Christ and impacts every aspect of their life and doctrine. (Deut. 4:1-2, 2 Tim. 3:15-17, Rom. 15:4, Luke 21:33)

2. We believe God is triune. He is infinite, eternal, almighty, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. He exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and each one is co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal. Jesus is the Son of God. (Deut. 6:4-5, John 1:1-5, John 3:16, 1 John 4:9)

3. God created mankind in His image and likeness. He created them male and female making gender a gift and thus part of the goodness of God's creation. God's original creation was pure and holy but Adam and Eve fell into temptation from Satan and rebelled against God making all people inherently sinful. This Fall brought about the need for a perfect sacrifice to reconcile mankind to God. (Gen. 1:26-31, 2:18-23, Eph. 2)

4. Jesus is the Son of God and the only Way that mankind can be reconciled to God. Jesus lived the perfect life that we cannot in order to make atonement for us. Jesus was able to do this because he is fully God and fully man. He identifies with us in all aspects of life as he was tempted by Satan just as each person is tempted, yet he was without sin. He died and rose from the grave conquering sin and death. (1 John 4:9, 5:12-13, John 11:27, Luke 1:32, Luke 4:1-10, Galatians 4:4-6, 1 Cor. 15:17, Rom. 5:17)

5. It is only by God's gift of grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that each person is reconciled to God. (John 3:1-21, Acts 2:38, 17:30, Luke 13:3, Luke 5:20, Acts 20:21, Rom. 1:17, 3:24, 5:15,  1 Cor. 15:17, Gal. 2:15-21, Eph. 1:7, 2:5)

6. In light of the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for our sins, we are to live a life of obedience to God and His Word. Sanctification is a work of God within the believer that is done by the Holy Spirit. Scripture teaches that "faith without works is dead"...not that works produce faith but that faith produces works. God's will is for His people to be holy as He is holy. We cannot do this on our own, we need the Holy Spirit. (1 Sam. 15:22, Matt. 28:19, Rom. 1:5, 6:16, 2 Cor. 9:13,

7. We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment where each person is either condemned to hell eternally or brought into the presence of God for eternity. (Matt. 12:36-37, Mark 13:32, Acts 1:10-11, Phil. 3:20, 2 Cor. 5:10, Heb. 9:27, 1 Thess. 4:13-18, 2 Thess. 1:6-9, James 5:7-11, 1 John 3:2, Rev. 20:12-15)
